CORONA, CA

LAVA EAST VOLLEYBALL CLUB

LAVA East Volleyball Club is one of the four LAVA "compass point" locations. LAVA East launched in 2018 to serve the athletes and families of greater Corona and its adjacent communities.

The club is still in its growth stages as overseen by the steady and capable hand of Director Michelle Gansert, a long-time and respected figure on the local club volleyball scene. LAVA East houses an exceptional coaching staff with deep ties to the Corona area and its adjacent communities.

The program fields three to five teams annually across the range of age divisions, as well as youth and juniors non-travel training programs. We use various gyms around the Corona, Norco and Riverside areas. We encourage you to speak to our Directors or any of our coaches about what it means to be part of LAVA East and we look forward to seeing you in the gym with us soon.

MICHELLE GANSERT
DIRECTOR - LAVA EAST

Michelle Gansert is a long-time and respected member of the Inland Empire volleyball community. She capped her playing career by playing three years and graduating from California State University San Bernadino in 1994, before embarking on a coaching career that has earned significant accolades working with high school and junior high school athletes.

Her extensive resume includes Redland East Valley High School, where during her tenure the REV girls varsity team won their league every year (2003-2010), won back-to-back-to-back CIF Championships (2007-2009), and were State Finalists in 2008 and 2009 -- an amazing run of success over a multi-year period. Michelle moved over to Citrus Valley High School and again brought a school a league title, before retiring from coaching high school teams to pursue teaching. Michelle is currently a middle school teacher in the Redlands Unified School District.

She has continued to coach club volleyball, however, to the great delight of her athletes, families, and fellow coaches. Over twenty years of club coaching, she logged stints with Rancho Valley, Arsenal, and Mavericks Volleyball Clubs before joining LAVA East for its launch in 2018. Michelle has coached a variety of age divisions, including 14's, 16's, and 17's, and in spring of 2018 guided her Mavericks 14's team to a Bronze Medal at the AAU West Coast Championship.

Please feel free to contact Michelle with any questions about the LAVA East program. Her contact information is below and she is eager to speak with you.

YOUTH LITE PROGRAM @ LAVA EAST
FOR 3rd-5th GRADE GIRLS

The Youth Lite Program at LAVA East has been popular and successful since our launch. The program is seasonal -- Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall -- with each session running for multiple weeks, with one practice per week. The cost per player for each session depends upon the length of the session (customarily ranges from $80-$160 per player).

The Lite Program is the official youth training and development program of LAVA East, designed to give young athletes a taste of volleyball in a encouraging environment that mixes quality skills training with lots of fun games to build a passion for this wonderful sport. The program is coached by professional, paid coaches; it is not volunteer-based and, as such, the training value and player growth is significant.

The Lite Program is primarily for 3rd-5th graders, although 2nd graders or 6th graders can participate with Director approval on a case-by-case basis depending on available space and the time of year.

JUNIORS NON-TRAVEL PROGRAM @ LAVA EAST
FOR 6th-8th GRADE GIRLS

The Juniors Program at LAVA East has been a strong training program for middle school athletes for several years. The program is seasonal -- Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall -- with each session running for multiple weeks, with one practice per week. The cost per player for each session depends upon the length of the session (customarily ranges from $80-$160 per player).

The Juniors Program is the official middle school non-travel training program of LAVA East, designed to provide quality technical training with focus on individual development (skills training and having fun). The program is for girls who are not looking to play on a travel club volleyball team, but who wish to keep their skills up either out of love for the game or a desire to play in high school, or both! It limits both the cost and time commitment required to participate, but still provides excellent training at the hands of professional, paid coaches; it is not volunteer-based and, as such, the training value and player growth is significant.

The Juniors Program is primarily for 6th-8th graders, although 9th graders can participate with Director approval on a case-by-case basis depending on available space and the time of year. 6th graders are encouraged to participate in Juniors instead of the Lite during winter or spring sessions, and the Lite in summer or fall. The program usually runs on two courts, a Beginner/Intermediate Court for newer players and an Advanced Court for experienced juniors athletes.
